Hey Runners, Are you tired of feeling crushed every time someone criticizes you for wanting to go for a new PB? I used to take every comment personally, until I learned a mindset shift that changed everything. And once I did, I improved faster than it ever had before. Let me show you how to do the same. You see, when I first started taking training seriously, I thought everyone would support me... Spoiler: they didn’t. Some people told me I was “trying too hard.” Others said I’d “I was too tall.” One even said, “What a big ego. Taking all that time away from your family.” Ouch... Every comment got inside my head. I’d think about it during workouts, during races… even during recovery. And as soon as things got tough, those voices got louder. Eventually, as I trained with greater and greater athletes, I learned something that kinda shocked me... All of them was hated upon at some point in their lives for having big goals. And then it hit me. Criticism is a part of life. Either you get criticized for not trying. Or for trying too hard. You see, criticism is a part of life. It's not a choice. But we get to choose what we are criticized for. So pick something that are worth it. So I made a decision: I stopped trying to win them over. I stopped explaining myself. I stopped letting other people’s opinions shape my life. And once I removed that mental weight… my confidence exploded. I showed up better. I trained harder. I stopped hesitating. And funnily enough... The same people who doubted me started asking for advice. Ignore the noise. The only revenge is success. Nicklas |
