Hey runners, I had a conversation with a friend this week that hit me harder than I expected. During a particularly brutal workout he asked me: āI feel like Iām putting in all this effort⦠and nothing is changing.ā And honestly? Iāve felt that exact same way. Iāve been in those shoes for years. Sometimes, I still am... But hereās the uncomfortable truth I wish someone told me 15 years ago: If youāre putting in the effort and not seeing results, doing more wonāt magically fix it. More miles. More intervals. More grinding. It wonāt help if it's not the right thing. More isnāt the solution. More of what actually works for you is the solution. And figuring out what that thing is can be incredibly hard⦠and unbelievably frustrating sometimes. But that really is the game of improvement. Humans figured this out a long time ago. Itās called the scientific method: Observe ā Guess ā Test ā Conclude. The more you do this, the better your guesses become. And the faster you improve. Because now youāre getting data on what actually works for you. And hereās the key: The runners who improve fastest arenāt the ones who tries the hardest. Theyāre the ones who have clarity, community and a feedback loop. Thatās been on my mind a lot lately. How to help more of you get that clarity consistently⦠And not just through random YouTube uploads. Iāll share more soon, but for now⦠Whatās the ONE thing you feel is holding your running back the most right now? Reply and tell me. I read every message. Talk soon, PS: Over the next few weeks, Iām going to share a few āahaā lessons that completely changed how I train. If you apply just one of them, your running will feel very different (in a good way.) |
