Ever had one of those runs where your legs feel like lead, your breathing’s ragged, and every step makes you wonder why you signed up for this in the first place?

That was me last Sunday.

From the first kilometer of my half marathon, I felt terrible.

No rhythm. No flow.

Just a long, grinding battle against myself and a voice that kept telling me that I was running too slow, it was too hard and it wasn't worth it.

But I fought back. With every single step.

"Keep going."

"This is too hard"

"You got this"

I must've gone back and fourth at least 1000 times.

But when I crossed the finish line completely mentally drained and stopped my watch, I couldn’t believe it:

1:11:30.

A full 2 minutes faster than just 3 weeks ago when I felt amazing.

You see, how you feel during a race or workout doesn’t always reflect how you’re performing.

Your body might be working like a machine, even if your brain’s telling you otherwise.

So next time you feel rough during a race or workout, don’t panic.

Focus on execution: your pacing, your form, your breathing.

Don't let that inner voice get the best of you.

Fight back and you might end up surprising yourself like I did.

Because feeling good is nice.

But those true breakthroughs...

They come from sticking with it when others give up.
